More content is being created than ever before, at a time when AI and new technologies are rapidly flooding the market. Across news, marketing, radio, television, film, live production, and event production, media jobs are constantly shifting and evolving. While traditional roles are changing, new opportunities are emerging every day.
At the same time, the industry is facing a significant transition, with a large amount of technical knowledge and production expertise retiring. This creates both a challenge and an opportunity for the next generation of media professionals to step in, adapt, and shape what comes next.
This panel discussion will offer students, emerging professionals, and mid-career professionals insight into how media careers are evolving, what skills remain essential, and where new opportunities are being created in an industry being reshaped by technology.
We’re excited to welcome a panel of professionals working across different areas of media and entertainment technology, including:
WABE friends, come kick off your week with an evening of conversation and connection. Whether you’re teaching, a student, or a working professional, this is your chance to hear directly from those in the industry about how their careers have changed, what opportunities they are seeing, and what skills matter most today.
We hope this conversation sparks inspiration, new ideas, and continued growth in both skills and creativity for everyone working in media today.
Attendees can be advised that the free industry meetup will be held at The Roblin Centre, 160 Princess Street. Guests may enter through either the William Avenue or Elgin Avenue entrances and should let security know they’re attending the WABE Monday Media Meetup.
